Pre-Kindergarten Room

About our Pre-Kindergarten Room

Pre Kindergarten in BIrmingham, MiPre-K at IXL Learning Center is an adventure that will impact your child forever. Our goal is to prepare your child for kindergarten, as well as help them to be independent thinkers and successful life-long learners. Children are encouraged to act independently, to make good choices for themselves, and to become responsible students. We believe that all children must feel safe and comfortable in their classroom, promoting these good choices.

The class curriculum is organized into weekly themes and lesson plans. We integrate mathematics, science, and language arts into these lessons. There is also a focus on fine motor skills (tying, lacing, holding a pencil, zipping, cutting) and gross motor skills (skipping, galloping, balancing, jumping.) In preparing your child for kindergarten we also teach them to recognize colors, shapes, numbers, letters, letter sounds, their own name, site words and much, much more. We keep portfolios for each child that represents their growth, as well as perform frequent evaluations to determine focus areas.

Our pre-kindergarten program prepares your child for kindergarten in every facet possible, and is an experience they will never forget.
