We are conveniently located in the Chemung Centre Professional Building on the south side of Grand River between Dorr Road and the I-96/Grand River exit (Lake Chemung) in Genoa Township.

About IXL
Howell

IXL Learning Center is a fully Licensed and state inspected Childcare Center. We offer full and part time, year round care and education for infants from six weeks to school age children. Our Hamburg IXL location was established in May of 2001 and has been operating with our current owner since 2003. We then expanded to include our Howell location, established in 2008.

Programs

We provide stimulating programs which encourage learning through experience. Children are encouraged to explore their creativity, independence, problem solving skills, muscle development and self help skills. Lessons are planned based on weekly thematic units, meeting the state preschool curriculum standards. Basic Spanish and Sign language are integrated into these lesson plans. Assessments are given periodically to track a child’s growth, and portfolios are kept as well. Each class attends specials once a week including music, library and physical education.

Staff

Our experienced and loving staff are professionally trained and are required to continue their education in childcare areas. We have certified elementary teachers in our Preschool, Pre-K and School-Age classrooms. All teachers are CPR, first aid and blood bourn pathogen trained. We also require a criminal background check on each employee. Our staff is very committed to our families and the center as a whole, creating a very low employee turnover rate.

Other Benefits

• Healthy Meals included in your tuition- We provide balanced lunch and multiple snacks. Lunch is based on a monthly menu and children eat in a family style setting and focus on manners

• Good hygiene- Children are taught to wash their hands throughout the day and brush their teeth after lunch.

• Security- Our facility offers limited access doors into the center, as well as a secluded location. We also have a computer based attendance check-in system.

• Parent Involvement- Teachers work closely with parents to help ensure that the needs of the children are met.

• Programs are allergy aware; our center is nut free.

• Gross Motor- We offer a large fenced-in outdoor play area, as well as an indoor ball room.

Hours

We are open from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday Through Friday. A 6am early start program is available. Major holidays are the only days our Center closes.
