This is an IXL created area where children can go when they are upset, need to calm down, or have a problem to solve; similar to a “safe spot” or “cozy corner.” The purpose of this area is for the child to have a place to “take a PAUSE,” be alone if needed, feel safe, or to calm their minds and bodies. This area is comprised of many important tools including: comfortable sitting area, timers, Power Cards, Emotions Poster, emotion mirrors, and Power Pieces (fidget boxes).
